How days lived calculator Works

Why counters work

"Thirty-two years" is an abstraction; "11,700 days" is a countable quantity — the brain treats them differently. Day-counting practices (10,000-day birthdays, sobriety counters, day-of-year journals) all exploit the same psychology: concrete numbers create attachment and urgency that year-numbers cannot.

The approximations, honestly

Heartbeats assume ~70 bpm (athletes run lower, cats higher); breaths assume 16/minute; meals assume three daily. The full-moon count is calendar-exact (29.53 days). The panel is perspective, not physiology — the precision of the format is the joke and the point.

The milestones worth marking

10,000 days (~27.4 years), 15,000 (~41), 20,000 (~54.8), 25,000 (~68.5) — the round day-counts make better celebrations than nearby year-counts precisely because they are unusual. The calculator surfaces your next one implicitly; the party is on you.
